Gene Insley
Engineer and Product Development Executive

Gene is an experienced engineer and product development executive with over 25 years in the toy business specializing in the Operations aspect of the business.

His specialization is working closely with Creative Design and Marketing partners to enable the manufacture of safe, profitable products that fulfill the initial creative vision in a timely manner.

His toy career began at Fisher~Price where he was instrumental in the creation of many of their most technically innovative and successful products including the worlds first commercial Baby Monitor.  With the merger of Mattel and Fisher~Price, Gene moved west to become VP of Engineering, Infant/Preschool products which grew to include Games/Puzzles and Dolls.  He became Sr VP, Engineering of all Girls product in 1999.

Gene has worked in Asia for over 28 years and moved to Hong Kong with Mattel in 2001 to establish a stronger product development relationship with Mattel factories and local suppliers.  Responsibilities included product engineering, tooling and sourcing for all Girls Products.  He has developed a strong relationship with many of the best suppliers, toolmakers and model shops in Asia

Gene has a BSME from the University of Illinois and when not working or playing with toys, he can usually be found on a golf course or toying with a Corvette.
